"Scout Dragon" emerging from the ocean is

3.5" x 2.5" Acrylic paint on watercolour paper.

This is the story of a thoughtful dragon. He's happy in his dragon life, yet sees something in the distance that sparks curiousity. He'll probably just watch for awhile knowing he's just fine on his chosen path .

"Scout Flowers" are orange-ish in front of a dusty blue sky. 2.5"x 3.5" Acrylic paint on w/c paper.

"Dog Scout on a Steep Hill" is a little nervous about being there, but is fine and balanced just the same.

I am diligently getting my work into galleries again. I've been painting and drawing for the last few years while galleries closed around me. Now it's time to get back in the mix and promote

my work again. Am looking for galleries in

Atlanta, Charlotte, New York, Asheville, Birmingham and possibly Santa Fe or Taos.

Sept. 27-29, 2007 was the Expo East , Natural Foods Convention in Baltimore, Md. Carolina Morning Designs is now using my painting "Lavender Landscape" in their product design. Linsi Deyo, my longtime friend, founder of Carolina Morning Designs, and her husband, Patrick Clark, commissioned and collaborated with me to do this painting for their meditation and yoga products. On the Spot: Painting on site at City Gallery East

There are about 23 of us. Artists creating our works in the gallery for the next two weeks. The gallery is in the old Sears building on Ponce in Atlanta. Artists are working on site Sept. 1 - 15, and the closing reception is Sept. 29th, 2006. The title of this painting is " Random Belief Systems". Organic land imagery.

Last December, 2005, I posted a call for artists to participate in this artist-made experimental magazine or "zine". Some artists were invited and then some were called for by ad postings. My dream was to have as few as 10 artists and as many as 30. The artists accepted were asked to print anything they wanted on their 30, 8.5" x 11" pages. We published with 8 artists. They were placed in the "zine" in order of receipt. Then I added the cover, content, and back pages. This is the copy of my page, which, a little more enhanced, was also the cover page. I'll post that page next. The "copy" on my page is intended to find patrons/collectors interested in a contractual agreement that will provide me with a stipend per month in exchange for my art work. Copies of Alias Artists "zine" have been sent to arts organizations and collectors in Iceland, Germany, New York, and the Southeast, among others. There is a written request inside the front cover to keep it circulating and there are stamped-self-addressed feedback cards in the back.

"Ram Jai" is the narrow piece, Egyptian anima with a shield, slightly abstracted, © 2006, 12" X 48" Acrylic on canvas, Work In Progress, "Mystic Animals" is the pastel piece resting on my drafting table, © 2003, I worked on it on and off over about a year, it is finished now, but in never got a good photograph before framing it, here it's a Work In Progress, it's about 52" X 36" framed, $2500., "The Law of Gravitation" © 2006-, 48" X 54"Acrylic on canvas, the large blue piece with red animal shapes. I got the formula for the law of gravitation from a television special about Isaac Newton while I was painting this. He's one of my heroes, in a sense. I thought it was appropriate because I've always loved the challenge of depth and movement within a painting, for the last 6 months this has been a Work In Progress.

Reading: The History of Knowledge

For the last few months I have been reading "The History of Knowlege". I am a slow reader, and want to remember as much as I possibly can. I love this book. It gives brief synapse's of history. One of the most interesting things it's said was - during the times of earliest mathematical calculations, there was no concept of the number zero, so they'd leave it out or write the calculations in ways that only they themselves understood. And it was a thousand years later when someone figured this out. I think this was the Babylonians and then the Egyptians. That's all for now...

Just wanted to let people know that my work is for sale. The pieces on the site are as follows: The one with the little purple dog on the outdoor table setting is called "The Arrival" © 2004 and is 20"X 16" Pastel on paper, framed in a heavy, ornate (cross between gold and silver) frame. Retail price is $1200. The blue and green landscape with the obscure houses, small figure and floating ball is called "Untitled Landscape" © 1998, 17" X 21" Acrylic on paper, in a semi-ornate gold frame. Retail price is $1600. The painting at the bottom of the page that's a little more abstract is called "Portrait" © 2006 is 11" X 14", Acrylic on canvas, unframed. Retail price is $750. The painting with the mustard-coloured background and figure juggling fish and coloured balls is called "Balancing Chakras" © 2004, 8" X 6" framed out to 20" X 16" Acrylic on paper, in an Italian black and gold frame.
